This shot was on Shidoshima Island on a nice warm day. I had a chance to hang with the locals as no other humans were around so they seemed to not mind me after awhile.
The fresh ocean breeze revitalizes the spirit while passing islands pass like ducks on a pond. The Shodoshima Island ferry carries automobiles and passengers to and from Shikoku Island. Standing on the upper deck alone, one may feel as he or she is on a ghost ship.
Shodoshima Island has much character to be discovered. Just walking about near the port of Kusakabehonmachi area one can see very old restaurants and structures such as this billboard that has been faded by time. How long ago was this sign erected and do these plaques even have relevance today. This is another area of Japan that seems to be stuck in time and it's wonderful.
Takamatsu is a port city located in the Kagawa area on the island of Shikoku. The fresh ocean air and its slow pace of life make it a great place to unwind. Sanuki Udon is a very famous region specially dish that is highly recommended to try if you visit.

The Yoshino River is one of the clearest and non-polluted rivers in Japan. The area is surrounded by rugged mountains and countryside farmland. River rafting is also popular here to get a cool bath from the heat and humidity.
